Journey2Jackson .....We're Getting Married!

We met each other at work - maybe not the most romantic beginning, but it's ours, and we wouldn't have it any other way. In the spring of 2019, Shawn worked for a rapidly growing startup while Lakesha managed a staffing company. After helping Shawn by providing a solution to staffing needs, the two worked closely together for a few months. What started as lighthearted conversation between colleagues quickly turned into shared laughter, stolen glances, and a deep friendship. Before we knew it, we were inseparable. As we like to say, "Real Recognize Real!" and the love we had for each other was a real as real could get. Falling in love wasn't something either of us planned, but when love finds you, it doesn't ask for permission. That's when we learned that the story of "us" was out of anyone's control, even ours. After dating for a few years Shawn knew that living the rest of his life without Lakesha was not an option. Just like their love story, the proposal was a beautiful surprise. On Mother's Day 2024, as the final curtain fell at an Alvin Ailey Dance Company performance, in front of hundreds of strangers and the most important women their lives, Shawn dropped to one knee and proclaimed their fairytale love story a dream come true. In a whirlwind of emotions and happy tears, Lakesha gave the easiest answer of her life - "Yes!" "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and receives favor from the Lord." - Proverbs 18:22 We are forever grateful to God for this journey - one that is "Purpose by Design", filled with love, lessons, and countless blessings. As we step into this exciting new chapter, we want to each of you to know how much it means to have you by our side.
