In May 2019, Shawn and I brought the kids to an estate sale to "pick". The kids were running a muck around this house that had a ton of fragile items. The kids commented on how the house reminded them of Cape May houses where we love to vacation. Shawn ushered the kids outside so that they wouldn't break anything. They noticed the pool in the back and said, "Wow! How awesome would it be if we moved into this house!!" Shawn asked the realtor overseeing the estate sale if it was going on the market and sure enough he said it is. My friend Mo gave me the inside tip that the house was on the market and that I should put in an offer immediately because houses on that block do not last! We got the house and did our final walk through on July 1. Little did I know that Shawn and our realtor were in cahoots planning the proposal. I thought they were taking pictures/video for the Century 21 website. The ugly bench in the picture was a point of contention during our close. I wanted it removed and asked my realtor 5 x to make sure it wasn't there on the day of close. Of course Shawn was being a scooch about it and asked me to take pics by the bench. He fumbled around a bit and then got on his knee.. I was confused and then saw the BLING and it all set in! I was definately surprised and caught off guard!! Now, I can't find it in me to get rid of the bench.
