We met as a joke through my cousin Shyla and her husband Ryan. Ryan and Shawn were stationed together in South Korea. Ryan texted Shawn asking if he would like to be nominated as one of his "cute single army friends". Shawn then asked for a picture, Ryan sent the picture and Shawn responded with "dibs, 10/10 will marry." We did long distance for a while, relying on facetime to get to know each other/build a friendship and finally got the chance to meet face to face when Shawn flew to Arizona in the beginning of 2018.

Shawn proposed to me under a waterfall at Glen Onoko Falls in Pennsylvania, after we hiked it with Shawn's dad, brother, sister, cousin and her boyfriend (Shawn told me I didn't need shoes so I hiked barefoot the whole way, was not fun. Lol!)
