A celebration of what's to come!

What started as a yearly hunting trip with friends and family for Jenn, coupled with a sudden invitation for me, ended up turning into something neither of us saw coming in the best of ways. Most of that credit ends up in the hands of my lifelong friend and brother Steve, who was out with everyone on this trip. Steve gave me an invitation one day out of the blue for a nice time out camping, hunting, and getting away from everything for the weekend. I almost decided against going but in the end figured that a trip out with my best friend was something that was much needed. Early the next the day I headed out towards Florence. Having spoken with Steve the night before, I knew that there was a closed gate that Steve was going to meet me at. To not only open, but lead me to their camp site. Upon arriving at the gate I was unable to get in touch with Steve and after multiple tries calling, texting, and anything else I could do, I was almost ready to leave. Deciding that if another 20 min go by I'd turn around and head home. Thankfully Steve finally came back into cell range and was able to meet up with me and show the way to camp. When I got there the only people at camp were Steve and Jenn. Upon seeing Jenn for the first time I immediately asked Steve if she was single or seeing anyone. The next hour or so was spent with introductions as people made their way back to camp, music, and of course drinking. As the day went on we began talking more and more and started hitting it off. It felt easy, natural, and most importantly fun. Soon everyone was sitting around a fire just shooting the shit and having a good time. Jenn every so often would get up from her seat and grab both her and I a drink. After a couple times I told her that if she kept this up I was going to fall in love with her. As we sat around the fire everyone and everything seemed to melt away as I focused on her and our conversation. We talked about cooking, baking, and a bunch of other stuff we liked and were into. Eventually Jenn called it and headed to bed, after a bit more time around the fire I did as well, graciously being allowed to sleep in the back of her car. The next morning I had to get going as I had things to do that day, before leaving though Jenn and I added each other on Facebook. After saying goodbyes I drove home, hoping and wondering when I would get to see her again. When I got home the only thing I wanted to do was message her and continue talking with her, I decided against that not wanting to come off as potentially creepy or clingy right away. Jenn however had no issue with that as she messaged me later that day. Again everything just clicked, talking with her was fun and easier than I thought possible. We soon went on our first date and I was nervous as hell, trying to figure out if it would be ok to kiss her or how I would go about it. However Jenn again was first in the lead on that, we got to the bar for a drink and after a bit of chatting told me that we may as well find out if we've got anything together and we had our first kiss. Since then Jenn has been nothing but a light and a blessing in my life and my best friend. There has never been anyone like her before and there will not be afterwards. All I want and all that I care about is making sure that she is happy and taken care of and she does all of that and more for me. I couldn't ask for a better partner and soon to be wife!
