We met up in Lake Oswego for a walk :) With COVID ongoing and our mutual love of scenic walks, we thought it was a happy medium. After our long walk, we both decided we didn't want our date to end, so we hopped over to Salt and Straw to get ice cream. Afterwards, we both suggested taking another walk, this time at another park. Two hours later, and a lot of walking and talking under our belts, we shyly knew we were hooked. We made plans for a second date the next day, and have been happily by each others' side since :)

Shawn sweetly surprised me with a trip to Hawaii, to escape from the lingering COVID shadow and the dull, dark winter days. Being one of my FAVORITE places to visit and it being Shawn's first time, I was very eager to follow him on whatever bucket list of activities he wanted. In addition to the usual touristy fun, swimming with turtles, drinking mai tais on the beach, and going to a luau, he kept mentioning he wanted to check out a sunrise at a specific beach he'd heard was known for its views. I happily, although tiredly obliged and boy was I in for a surprise! When we arrived we had the beach entirely to ourselves, it was majestic. Slowly others arrived to view the sunrise as well, and we walked further along the beach until we came to a nice view spot. When we got up to move closer to the water, I don't remember when Shawn stopped hugging me, but all I knew was his voice became more distant so I turned around and there he was on one knee asking me to be his wife. I was surprised and elated!! I happily said yes and gave him the biggest hug! It was only then we remembered all the other people on the beach watching the sunrise as they cheered us on. Now we were mortified AND elated!! The beach truly delivered!! It was a wondrous sunrise :)
