We met the old-fashioned way - Hinge. Yup, that's right; the “app that's meant to be deleted” was indeed, deleted! We matched on October 23rd, 2020, but Caroline, being a diligent dental student, was focused on studying for midterms and asked Shawn to wait almost 2 weeks for their first date! As it turns out, the long wait for a highly anticipated first date was perfect because Shawn and Caroline spent that time texting almost 24/7 and getting to know everything about each other! They finally met on November 5th, 2020 at The Exchange, a whiskey and cocktail bar as Caroline had disclosed that she loves bourbon. After enjoying each other's company over a cocktail, the two love birds ended up at Goodfellas Pizza (a fan fav for both) and spent the rest of the evening discussing everything from favorite books and Disney characters to family trees. And the rest was history! Caroline drove home with a full heart knowing she had just met her person, and Shawn drove home listening to Caroline’s favorite artist, Celine Dion (probably for the first time).

What's better than one proposal, you ask? TWO! Caroline proposed to Shawn on September 24th, 2022 at the Hamilton County Humane Society with the plan of starting their life together by rescuing their first puppy! If you haven't had the privilege of meeting Ms. Ruth Bader Ginsburg yet, we hope you will at the wedding! In the words of her vet, she's a "sweet, smart girl" and Caroline and Shawn love her more every day. A few weeks later, on October 15th, 2022, Shawn planned a very special afternoon/evening for the second proposal. After asking Caroline to marry her, Shawn led Caroline to The Exchange, the location of their first date, where both Hall and Henderzahs families were waiting to surprise Caroline! After spending the afternoon/evening celebrating and being surrounded by love, they enjoyed Goodfellas pizza once again, just as they had on their first date. We are so excited to celebrate our next special day with YOU! See you on Keuka Lake!
