Question

What Covid precautions are you taking?

Answer

This a question we understand is very important. The entire wedding, from ceremony and reception, will be outside. We are asking that all guests be vaccinated and boosted. We also are asking all guests to take a Covid home test as close to the wedding date as possible, no more than 3 days prior. Masks will be available to those that would like to wear them. And you can feel free to double or triple mask. Whatever makes you comfortable. For those that don’t feel comfortable coming, we will be sending out a zoom link closer to the wedding date so that you can watch from home if you prefer. We don’t want anyone to feel obligated to come and absolutely understand that everyone has different levels of comfort! While we will miss you there, we don’t want you to feel bad for taking care of yourself however you need.

Question

Is the ceremony /reception inside or outside?

Answer

Ceremony and reception will both be outside in our backyard. There will be a tent in case of rain but we hope to keep the sides open to keep things Covid-safe.

Question

Will there be a reception following the ceremony?

Answer

Yep! Same location, you don’t have to travel anywhere else.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Yep! We love kiddos! This is a kid-friendly event! (Please just let bride or groom know if not listed on invitation.)

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

We wish! Sorry but no dogs because our ring bearers are not always dog friendly.

Question

Will there be an open bar at the reception?

Answer

We will have self-serve beer, wine, and some sort of alcoholic punch but if you prefer something specific please feel free to bring your own.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive by 12:45, the ceremony will begin at 1.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Be comfortable. Be you. This is what we are referring to as a casual chic wedding... that means first and foremost be comfortable. We prefer no pajamas or jeans/t-shirts but you know, it’s not a black tie affair by any means... just be a little more spiffy than usual. You definitely don’t need to feel obligated to wear suit and tie. You also might want to avoid wearing high heels because it’s outside in grass.

Question

Are there any colors I should avoid wearing?

Answer

Ummm... just try to avoid white. Lol.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. This just means we are asking that all phones and devices be put away and on silent/turned off during the ceremony. Why? Well, we've hired a professional to capture this most important moment of our lives. After the ceremony, feel free to turn on your phones and take as many photos as you want. We would love to see any pictures or videos you capture! If you post, make sure we are looking good! Please use the hashtag #sharla on social media so we can relive this amazing day!

Question

Do I have to buy a gift?

Answer

That’s entirely up to you.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please just check with bride or groom regarding space.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please do! There is a place to do this when you RSVP through this website (see the RSVP tab above). Please note: this will be a vegan event.

Question

What if I've had a few by the reception's end and shouldn't drive?

Answer

Our #1 priority is having our guests avoid unsafe situations. In having alcohol available, we ask that you please know your limits. However, mistakes happen! Luckily, there are several hotels nearby with plenty of Lyft and Uber drivers on standby. Please see a member of the wedding party to bum some cash if you need to—we’ll have a dedicated “get home safe” fund and want you to use it!

Question

When / where should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 23, 2022 the latest! And please RSVP through this website (see the RSVP tab above). Come on though, you know you’re coming, don’t play.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please check our Travel page on this website. You can find a direct link to it at the top of this page. We are planning to get a block of rooms at one hotel and will update this when we do.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are in the same place, our backyard! It is a residential neighborhood so there is street parking. If you are having trouble, there will be someone showing people where to park. If you are staying in the area, we strongly suggest taking Uber or Lyft as parking close by will be limited.

Question

Will there be dancing / entertainment?

Answer

Absolutely we will have dancing! We have arranged for a Spotify playlist to help us out with this because we are fancy like that. And our son will be supervising all the music!

Question

What does it mean that this is a vegan event?

Answer

Dinner, drinks and dessert will be vegan, meaning they contain no animal products. Veganism has a positive impact on animals, the environment, and our health, and we are excited to share this meal with you. If you're interested in learning more about the vegan lifestyle, please visit woodstocksanctuary.org/going-vegan We are having food catered by one of our favorite local vegan restaurants, Thank Goodness It’s Vegan. Food will be set up buffet style. It will be casual comfort food! From fries to sliders, from mac and cheese to salad, from roasted veggies to empanadas! (gluten free options included!) https://thank-goodness-its-vegan.square.site If you haven't had vegan food prepared by a professional chef, then you are in for a delicious surprise! There will be something for every taste and even for the kiddos. You hopefully won't be disappointed!

Question

Do you call everyone dorks or just dogs?

Answer
