There once stood a hole-in-the-wall panini shop along Main St. in DTSA that served the strongest expressos, and it was there that Shawn first saw Amelia. He commented on her shirt as they waited for their coffees and soon the two started debating who was "more punk" (it was clearly Shawn, but she still won't admit it). After getting their coffees, the two continued talking and walked through downtown together, exploring art galleries, climbing on closed exhibits, and ending up in a music shop on 4th street. It was there and then that Shawn bought the guitar that he would one day hide an engagement ring inside of.
For their four year anniversary, Shawn (who had not once ever planned one of their vacations before) booked a trip back to the resort where the couple had spent their first anniversary in Puerto Vallarta. As in their fashion, the couple was met with missed flights and lost luggage but 12 hours and many tequila shots later ended up on the beautiful Mexican coastline sandwiched between ocean and jungle. On the day of their actual anniversary, Shawn reserved dinner in a private cabana on the beach and after asking the waiter to take their picture, Shawn got down on one knee and proposed. Amelia said "yes" and the waiter said "she happy".
