We first met in the Wilton Mall parking lot in front of Homegoods (surprising I know). The funny part was when we met, I was driving my dads lifted black Ram and I think this surprised Christian. Christian had asked me if I had wanted to go to a nice dinner, or somewhere as they know him as Daryl. There really wasn't much of a choice, I had to know why people knew Christian as Daryl or curiosity would have killed the cat. Anyways, we head over to Applebees and sit with our wonderful server Stephanie. Stephanie and many others who worked there called Christian Daryl and I couldn't stop laughing. Christian kept talking in a redneck voice, but only when the workers were around. He wouldn't let them hear his normal voice! After dinner, we drove up to his storage unit so I can borrow his Aaron Donald Rams jersey for school. This is very funny looking back, because during our first date, the Rams and Bills were playing each other for Thursday night football. We then drove up to Lake George, where they were having their annual car show that weekend. I remember Christian singing carpool karaoke to random people walking around Lake George that night and slowly sliding down in the passenger seat wanting to hide. After Christian was done embarrassing me, we parked the car and took a walk next to the lake. We sat down on the bench and sat and talked for what it felt like hours. When we realized how late it was, we headed back to the car for Christian to drop me back off at the truck. We both had to work in the morning and I remember getting home with a huge smile on my face and feeling happier than I have felt in a very long time.
Christian proposed at Griffith Observatory, where you can see the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, California. Christian told me he wanted to take a selfie in front of the building, but my leg fell asleep after eating our picnic on the grass. So I told him no due to that, but Ryan was the ultimate wingman and told me to go take a selfie with him while he goes and throws out the trash. I said okay, then start limping as we walk up to the staircase. Christian then grabs both of my hands and starts talking to me and saying things like "you know I love you right" and my only response was "uh huh". He continued to say other things and I can't remember (whoops) and I say to him "what are you doing?". He then starts to go down on one knee and I say "yes". Then he pulls out the ring and I say yes again. He just laughs at me and then told me I have to let him ask the question before I can say yes. Then he finally asks me to marry him after what felt like 20 minutes and I said yes for a third time and immediately hugged him. I was in total shock. He then puts the ring on my finger and introduces the photographer he hired and said we are doing a photoshoot right now. She then told me she has a dress for me to put on and I needed to get changed. It felt like a movie. I got changed in the lawn behind two blankets, and I still couldn't believe what had just happened. By the end of the photoshoot, I started jumping up and down out of excitement and Christian then realized it finally hit me what just happened. It was an amazing day, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
