“How did you fall in love with New Orleans? At once, madly. Looking back, sometimes I think it was destined.” – Andrei Codrescu We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share this monumental occasion with all of you in our favorite city. As our original plan was a small, simple elopement - we wanted to retain some of that freedom and flexibility even as we shifted to hosting a destination micro-wedding in New Orleans. For that reason, you will notice the absence of many traditional wedding elements. We will not be having bridal parties or a formal reception but have instead planned a few fun things over the course of the weekend that we would love to do as a group. We will be in town a full week before the wedding, so if you want to get in some extra time in the Big Easy - we will be here!

Second Line

6:15 pm - 6:45 pm

Second lining has been called "the quintessential New Orleans art form.” As it is a celebration, second-lines are a popular tradition among New Orleans weddings. It signifies the beginning of a new life together. Usually, the second line brings the wedding guests and bridal party from the ceremony to the reception. The newlyweds lead the procession, umbrellas in hand, while the wedding party and guests follow the band with handkerchiefs.

Cocktail Reception

6:45 pm - 8:00 pm

French Quarter Bar Hopping

8:00 pm

This is what we are all really here for - isn't it? Instead of a formal reception, we want to hit the town with you all. Bring comfortable shoes, some Advil, and an appetite for mixing liquor.

Garden District & Cemetery Walking Tour

1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Comfortable & Casual

The Garden District, or ‘Lafayette City’, as it was once known, is just a short streetcar ride from the French Quarter, but it feels like a world apart. Excluded from early 19th Century Creole society, newly arrived Yankees got to work creating their own city. The result is one of New Orleans’s most desired neighborhoods and one of the nation’s most beautifully preserved city districts and it’s home to the rich, the famous, the strange, and the dead! Join us as we stroll the leafy, magnolia-shaded streets of the Garden District and a city of the dead, Lafayette Cemetery #1. This walking tour is not just mansions and manicured gardens, but stories of legends, tragedy, epidemics, lost causes, movie stars, celebrity chefs, and haunted spirits.

"Walking the Devil's Empire": Adults Only Walking Tour

8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

French Quarter
New Orleans, LA

Ageless vampires, star-crossed lovers, ice cold beverages, and a ghostly, ever-changing parade of New Orleans’ most wicked characters. You’ve heard rumor of the ‘Devil’s Empire’ - now immerse yourself in its disturbing truth. Leave behind beads and baubles and descend into an adults only tour through the Hottest Hell of America’s Most Haunted City. *Drinks are welcome and encouraged on this tour*

Frenchman Street Bar Crawl

Fri, Oct 22, 2021, 9:30 pm - Sat, Oct 23, 2021, 12:00 am

It’s around midnight in the Marigny. Neon blinks, a trombone slides and a crowd gathers for another impromptu curbside concert on Frenchmen Street. Frenchmen -- crowded, buzzing and vibrant -- might just be the most consistently musical stretch of asphalt in New Orleans. With one trip around the clubs on Frenchmen, you are likely to hear all kinds of music, as it is what the street is known for. It’s not the first place most visitors know to go to, but inside the clubs like Snug Harbor, the Spotted Cat, d.b.a , Blue Nile and even outside on the street, you’ll hear some of the best live music produced anywhere in the world. Grab some friends and dance the night away on this bumping thoroughfare.
