Shawn and Wendy both "swiped right" on the dating app Bumble. On a cold snowy day in December, they met at A.Bar in Rittenhouse Square and instantly hit it off. Shawn impressed Wendy with his knowledge as a C-17 pilot and leader in the Air Force. Shawn was enamored with Wendy's caring nature and dedication to her nursing career. Since then, they have enjoyed trips to the beach, nights out in the city, camping trips in the country, and traveling the world. Shawn and Wendy have visited several countries together from Germany to Indonesia. Shawn and Wendy moved in together in September of 2021 and added a puppy (Lucy) to the family in January of 2023. Lucy has brought much excitement and even more love to their home. Over the past six years, they have celebrated many milestones and successes together in both of their paths to where they are today!

With a mutual love for the beach, weekend trips to Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey beaches are not uncommon. After adopting a car-sick puppy in January '23, Shawn and Wendy had not made any trips to the beaches by July. Shawn talked Wendy into a "last minute" trip to the Delaware Beaches where he was able to get a pet-friendly room to accommodate Lucy as well. Shawn told Wendy that he had made plans for them to walk down the beach and have dinner at an oceanfront restaurant. As they walked down the beach, Shawn got down on one knee as the sun was setting, stunning diamond ring in hand, and asked Wendy to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course she said yes! Shawn's cousin Kyle was in the background as the undercover photographer to capture the moments and pop a bottle of champagne. We can't wait to celebrate with all of our family and friends, see you in Philly!
