Shawn and I met in the Marine Corps in 2016-- we were both stationed at the same unit in Beaufort, SC. For the first few months, we both admit, that we didn't even really notice one another; he wasn't on my "radar" and I wasn't on his. Which is strange to think, since once we both became on one another's radar, the attraction was undeniable. We both agree the reason for our lack of interest in one another came from the fact that neither of us were really looking for a serious relationship -- we were both just getting out of them and wanted to enjoy the single life. We started to become interested in one another through our two best friends (Jake and Maddie). They started seeing one another and inadvertently double dates just started to happen. What really attracted me to him was how great he was with Liliana. Shawn was a natural with her and everything just kind of fell into place from there. A few months later, I was pregnant. Although it was not a "planned" pregnancy, it was truly a blessing that it happened. Nine months later and our little man Weston was born. Our relationship (that officially started in March 2017) has been a roller coaster of ups and downs -- but mainly ups. We've grown into a matured and seasoned couple since becoming a blended family, having Weston, raising Liliana and Weston together, co-parenting with Liliana's father, both leaving the Marine Corps and transitioning back into civilian life, getting engaged, purchasing our first home together, going through the rigors of college/trade school, attaining degrees and certifications, starting new jobs, and learning how to juggle our careers with our personal lives. And I think we've done an amazing job, especially since there was a lot of curve balls thrown at us along the way. So thank you to all our family and friends who plan on attending our wedding and sharing our special day with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for wanting to celebrate our journey and our love.
