Meghan: Our story began in the 6th grade. I was the new girl, rocking braces and a fresh copy of Harry Potter, and John was absolutely crushing the bowl cut. There's something special about a friendship that develops during the most awkward time of your life, and we were slightly more than your average awkward. Our middle school friendship mostly consisted of AIM chats and prank calls. Chefboyardee and Angelmeg862 stayed close friends through the awkwardness of middle school, the comedy of single sex high schools, as well as colleges across the country. John was even my friend-zoned prom and homecoming date on more than one occasion. Somehow, after 20 years, John's perseverance finally paid off and he was able to cross over the friendship bridge, and I realized that maybe one of your longest friendships could become something very special. In 2016 I knew that it was worth it to pack up and move to paradise to be with the one I was always meant for, and it’s (literally) been sunshine and rainbows ever since! I never would have thought that my middle school AIM buddy, the one who brought me ice cream after I got my wisdom teeth out, and the one who was just kinda always there, would become the one I'd get to spend the rest of my life with! John: Meghan and I met in middle school and, she's right, I was crushing the bowl cut. Despite the hordes of 13 year old girls trying to win my heart I decided then that I would start the 20 year "long game" for Meghan to be mine. It took patience, planning, commitment, and ice cream. Finally, I let her out of the friend zone and asked her to move to Hawaii with me, where I now crush a mustache AND a bowl cut with Meghan by my side, just like I planned since the 6th grade. Needless to say it's been a long journey and we're so excited to make this thing official. We can't wait to celebrate our life together with those we care about the most, in this beautiful place we get to call home.
