Daniel and Alexis met on Bumble, where Alexis bravely opened with two important facts: she hated cats, and she lived nearby. With most places still closed due to COVID, Daniel invited her over for drinks on the back patio—where they listened to music, talked for hours, and unknowingly started the story they’d be telling for the rest of their lives. From the start, Alexis stood out. She was even more beautiful in person (a rare online dating miracle), genuinely kind, and truly interested in getting to know Daniel. While the chemistry was obvious, the pace was… cautious. After several dates with no kiss, Alexis assumed she’d been friend-zoned—until Daniel finally made the first move and, eventually, became the first to say “I love you.” About four or five months in, a simple conversation about being exclusive turned into their first real commitment. Neither was seeing anyone else, but saying it out loud made it real—and it set the tone for a relationship rooted in honesty, intention, and choosing each other. One of the best ways Daniel and Alexis connect is by building things together—literally. Their relationship has been shaped by countless home projects, starting with a board-and-batten wall in Alexis’s dining room (completed with help from Daniel’s power tools and her visiting mother). Since then, they’ve redesigned a backyard, installed a garden, and even spent months crafting a live-edge hardwood dining table. They thrive as a team: supporting each other, challenging each other, and laughing through the inevitable DIY chaos. Daniel admires Alexis’s independence, intelligence, discipline, and the deep care she shows for her family and friends. Her passion—for her career, for fitness, for baking, and yes, for Harry Potter—is one of the things he loves most about her. Alexis has helped Daniel grow emotionally, encouraged him to prioritize his mental and physical health, and shown him what it means to truly show up for someone. Alexis admires Daniel’s fun and fearless approach to life. He’s always ready to say “yes” to anything (except doing burpees with her at CrossFit); an attitude that makes life with him exciting and full. His ability to make everyday ordinary moments feel special and fun is something Alexis loves most about him. Daniel connects with people effortlessly and is fiercely supportive of the people he loves. Daniel has taught Alexis to embrace life with more courage and less hesitation, but more importantly, shown her what unwavering love, support and safety feels like. Their life together is a balance of productivity and play: working on projects, golfing, cooking, sending memes, cheering on Ohio State, seeing live music, and then winding down at home with Olive and Charlie—often while Daniel sings dramatically (and poorly) to his captive audience. In private, they’re silly, affectionate, and endlessly supportive. Daniel proposed on October 30, 2025, after over four years together. The day included golf, lunch at a favorite spot, a slightly improvised proposal during a walk with the dogs, a surprise photo shoot, dinner at The Top, champagne with friends—and a very enthusiastic “yes.” It was, fittingly, a perfect blend of planning, flexibility, and love. To Daniel and Alexis, marriage means choosing each other every day—through the good and the hard—and building a future rooted in family, growth, and commitment. They’re incredibly excited for what comes next and can’t wait to celebrate with the people who mean the most to them.
