Brandon and Shauntelle met in May of 2018. It was a fateful evening of imbibing while Shauntelle was out with close friends, when suddenly one friend said to her, "Shauntelle you haven't been on a date in over a year *insert side eye* we need to fix that." This friend proceeded to take her phone and with a look of determination in their eye began to swype for potential suitors on Tinder. As luck would have it, Shauntelle and Brandon matched. Brandon's first attempts to court her began through a series of messages, and when he asked her to lunch, she agreed. It was not love at first sight for Shauntelle, but Brandon was determined that Shauntelle was to be his wife.

Shauntelle had recently been accepted into a PhD program at The Ohio State University. Since she would be moving soon, Brandon surprised her by flying her mother in for Thanksgiving and planning a party with all of their closest friends to celebrate her accomplishment. The night began with fun and singing at the karaoke bar (Shauntelle loves karaoke). Shauntelle intended to sing her and Brandon's go to song next in queue (Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen), but Brandon decided to serenade her. She was enthralled. When he finished he got down on his knee and said, "Shauni, I've only got one question for you...will you marry me?" She replied, "Oh Sh*t! ....... Yes!!!"
