We had just arrived in Kyoto, Japan the night before and were ready to explore. Our first stop on the itinerary was the Daigo-Ji Temple, so we began our trek through the grounds. As we approached the temple, we were in awe of how stunning the fall foliage and vibrate temple was. Our best friends were with us who encouraged us to take some photos on the bridge. As usual, Cody moaned about having to take photos. Little did I know, this was all part of the plan. Once on the bridge, Cody leaned in to hug me and whispered how beautiful it was but not nearly as beautiful as I would be on November 7th of next year. I was confused at his statement but shocked as he began to get on one knee. A bunch of sweet words, ugly crying and happy tears followed. It was such a special and wonderful moment- one that both of us will forever treasure.
