we're getting married

After what felt like a lifetime in one of the strictest lockdowns in the world (we’re talking nearly 5 months of isolation), we both decided to do what nearly every other single person in Singapore did that week, reignite those dating apps, and braced ourselves for some new social interactions with strangers. Our first date, in Shauna’s words, was on a “low value” Monday evening, at a great rooftop bar in Singapore. All Shauna knew was that Thomas was French, he built bridges, he loved tennis and golf, and was VERY bad at taking selfies. Thomas saw that Shauna played football, worked in tech, and did a lot of cycling around Singapore, she even cycled her way to the date that evening! Despite Thomas’ late arrival to the date (the “French way” he calls it), we hit it off right away, ordering a double round of beers and food before the new Covid Rules put an abrupt end to the fun, throwing us out at 10.30pm on the dot. Little did we know, it was the very start of our crazy adventurous journey together...

Of course, Shauna decided to register us into a 14-day-race driving a tuk-tuk from North to South India (we are talking 3500km here...). This wasn't for the faint-hearted. After embracing and surviving this once-in-a-lifetime adventure together, Shauna had no idea we were about to embark into a brand new one. The day after crossing the finish line, Thomas got down on one knee in our hotel room, where we were recovering. It turns out he was carrying the engagement ring in his pocket the whole time! Thankfully he didn't lose it, and Shauna said YES!
