This love story is not your typical Walt Disney Special or Tyler Perry Movie. Our Story is about an extremely determined "West Coast" woman chasing down a "Down South" man. It was roughly 3 years ago when we met... I remember it like it was yesterday. I was working and next thing I know this woman was asking me awkward random questions. Which eventually led to Yas asking me for my number. The first day of texting were quite interesting because the texts were very short, filled with long wait time responses, and fragment sentences. (Lmbo) It was obvious to her, that my interest levels weren't there. LOL. So you could only imagine how quickly that lasted. It wasn’t until about 2 months later when we decided to try this unfinished communication. So there we were again trying to see if there was a spark. Unfortunately, this time was shorter lived than the first round of texting. (Lol) Months later, we decided to give it one more try and let's just say the third time was a charm! Since then, we've connected in a major way: from connecting on a spiritual level, quality time on dates, sharing life stories and struggles, and laughing about everything together. We have grown not only together but as individuals. As most relationships today, we have had our share of battles, bumps and bruises, and victories. Nevertheless, one thing remains certain and that's that we have chosen to LOVE one another despite it all!!! And here we are 3 years later, getting ready to blend and embark on yet another journey together, but this time we both are doing the chasing. LOL Yasmeen & Shaun
On July 28th, 2019, I created a secret little dinner at Texas De Brazil pretending to be centered around a friends birthday dinner. When everyone arrived we chatted a little and ate. Secondly, my friend gave a very impromptu speech on thanking everyone for coming out to celebrate. Next, a waitress came in with a slice of cake lifted high in the air hiding the ring and the "Will You Marry Me". When my friend Shack gave me the look, I stood up, slid my chair back and got down on one knee and she jumped up and eventually said "YES," and next thing you know we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Dallas!
