What is the dress code for the welcome party?

Answer

The dress code is summer casual with a polished, country club feel. Think nice sundresses, skirts, or dressy tops for women, and collared shirts with chinos, slacks, or dress shorts for men. Light fabrics and summer colors are encouraged - Michigan in August can be warm! Please skip jeans, athletic wear, and overly casual attire. We want everyone to be comfortable but looking party-ready for a fun evening together.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is garden formal, black tie optional. We request guests to dress in elegant, summer-appropriate attire that complements the setting of our 17th-century-inspired mansion and its garden. Think English garden party meets formal celebration. Colorful attire is encouraged. For women, floor-length or midi formal dresses are perfect, and fascinator hats are welcomed but not required. For men, tuxes or formal suits with dress shirts and a tie are ideal. Please keep the outdoor garden setting in mind when choosing shoes and fabrics, and feel free to embrace the romance and color of a summer garden celebration.

Are children allowed at the wedding?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adult-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone the opportunity to relax and enjoy the evening, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

What time should I arrive?

We would like guests to be in their seats by 3:15pm for a ceremony start time of 3:30pm.

Is the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes. Both the ceremony and reception will be held at Greencrest Manor.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding will be held outdoors pending the weather.

Do you have a hotel room block?

Answer

Yes. Our room block is with the DoubleTree in downtown Battle Creek. Please see Travel tab for information on booking.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes but parking is very limited. We would prefer if guests use the shuttles provided from the DoubleTree hotel in downtown Battle Creek.

Is the bar open, cash, or limited?

Answer

We will be having an open bar for the Welcome Party and Wedding. The After Party at The Cricket will be a cash bar.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

If a plus-one has been reserved for you, it will be indicated on your invitation.
