We initially met at a mutual friends BBQ although we didn’t talk or anything that day, Mark was definitely interested…me less so. Fast forward a few months later we ran into each other at a Sounders game and started chatting, we continued our chat at a local bar and that’s when he asked if he could kiss me, I said yes and then we continued to chat, I needed to run home to take care of my dog and he asked if he could walk me home and I of course said yes again. We went on what I say is our first official date the next day…we went brewery hopping with dogs in tow!
We had just returned from a camping trip at lake Kachess, first Mark stopped at REI to pickup some tent stakes, and then we drove home to drop off my dog and our camping gear and then we were off to his parents boat to enjoy an evening on the lake. When we arrived at the boat I was relaxing in the main area of the boat and Mark was downstairs in the cabin, he called up to me to ask me if I wanted to try something on, I said yeah thinking he was giving me a shirt or shorts or something as he typically did. He came upstairs leaned down in front of me and asked “ will you marry me” I stared at him for a bit being slightly out of it and then said yes. He then slid on a silicone ring he had bought earlier from REI (Sneaky Sneaky!!) and said we would create an actual ring together as he wanted to make sure I loved the ring he got me
When Mark initially proposed I told him he needed to do the proposal again with the real ring once we had it made, we had talked about doing it in lake Chelan at one of our favorite wineries well things change when someone can’t wait lol! We had just picked up the ring from our jeweler and decided to stop at our favorite brewery on our way home. We were enjoying a beer and Mark starts telling me…well I cant remember the wording but I know he said he loved me and our adventures together and that he wanted to have many more, that’s when he got down on his knee with the ring in hand and asked me to marry him…again! I did tear up a bit and said yes while happy laughing. We then joined friends at another brewery to celebrate.
