Our story started over twenty years ago when we met at church. Daniel was 12, and Shauna was 11. As active church kids, we were constantly at church. We were aware of each other, but we were nothing more than church friends. By the time we got to our teenage years, our friendship had become comfortable. Nothing romantic-just good conversation, plenty of laughs, and lots of teasing. It was such a comfortable friendship that Daniel was Shauna’s date to the senior prom. Although we went our separate ways after high school, we always maintained contact. Daniel would call to check in, and Shauna made it a point to call every year on November 1st - Daniel’s birthday. The funny thing about our post-high school years is that we occasionally thought of pursuing something more than friendship, but the timing was never right. Fast-forward to 2024. It had been a while since we had been in touch—almost a year—when Shauna visited their childhood church on Easter Sunday. After a brief, awkward hug in the church parking lot, we both knew something big was coming. That afternoon, after Easter Sunday service, we got on the phone and the rest was history…… Our love story isn’t a love at first sight story but a steady love…a love we weren’t always aware of…a forever love.
