Calvin and Shauna felt the need to dedicate a piece of their wedding website to their grandparents. REST IN PEACE SALIMA ALLY (Shauna’s Grandmother) SHEIK AMEER ALLY (Shauna’s Grandfather) ANGELA THOMPSON (Calvin’s Grandmother) RODNEY THOMPSON SR. (Calvin’s Grandfather) These individuals play a big role in the lives of Shauna and Calvin, and also play a big part in who they are today. When Calvin tells Shauna about his grandparents he constantly says “They would’ve loved you.” Shauna often tells Calvin the same. Shauna’s grandmother Salima Ally, was a seamstress. She dedicated her time back in her home town of Guyana, to sew countless amount of dresses for girls in their village. Shauna’s Grandfather worked numerous hard labor jobs throughout his lifetime. Some of those jobs were farming, factory work and security. Shauna’s grandfather always worked hard to make money for his wife and seven children. Calvin's grandparents both dedicated their lives to helping others in their careers. Calvin’s Grandfather was a U.S. Veteran, and his Grandmother was a nurse. They both would have been proud of Calvin's accomplishment in his law enforcement career today.
Grandma and grandpa, how I’ve missed you throughout the years. Grandpa, I miss most of all the way your face used to lighten at your first glance of me, your youngest granddaughter. I miss everything about you and how you used to let me watch T.V and still sneak dessert even when mom said I was being punished and it wasn’t allowed. Grandma, I miss hearing your stories from when you were a little girl, even if it was a story I’ve heard a thousand times. I miss watching you sew. You’ve created pieces that were breathtaking. You put love into every stitch. I wish you could’ve seen me in my wedding gown. You would’ve known the exact style that suited me. You would’ve made the slightest alterations that would’ve made the biggest difference. I know you both are looking down at me with the biggest smile on your faces. I love you both always and forever.
Grandmommy and Pops, man it still feels like you’re here today. Grandmommmy, I could remember so many great memories. What I would do to get another hug! You cared so much for everyone, you used to give birthday gifts to me and someone else, and it’s not even their birthday. You showed me the importance of family and how to keep a smile on my face. Pops, the GOAT himself. You’ve done so much for me that I can’t say thank you enough. I remember times when there were house parties and you’ll be mad because someone’s random kid stole your sodas! You were such a strong and disciplined man and I’m glad you paved the way for us. Thank you Grandmommy and Pops. Make sure to walk Meech and Sporty for me. Love you always.
