If you have some free time, September is one of the best months for hiking and/or day trips. 

HIKING

Diablo Canyon is spectacular if you have a car. 
For closer drives, we would recommend the Randall Davey Audubon hike (close to wedding venue), Sun Mountain, Aspen Vista Trails, Atalaya Trail, etc. 

For in town hikes: Make it up the hill to the Cross of the Martyrs for a beautiful view of the town. 

DAYTRIPS

The high road to Taos is beautiful and weaves through small, historic towns, each with a rich natural and cultural history.

Diablo Canyon Recreation Area

This is a very special experience if you have not been to NM before and have a vehicle. There may be options to carpool if there are many parties interested. We recommend the day soaking option. There is a closer Santa Fe option as well.

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

Chile season will be happening and the market will be stocked! Or grab something warm to drink at Sky Coffee and stop into one of the museums.
