Covid Updates

Our wedding is currently going forward as planned. Your health and safety are our top priority, and we completely understand if you are unable to join us. We expect everyone who is coming is vaccinated unless they are unable to for health or age purposes. Meals can be eaten outside, if desired. Updates will continue to be posted on our website.

How We Met

We met on Match.com! Yes, we're one of THOSE couples where e-dating actually worked. Shortly after we matched and started talking, Sharyn went to London for two weeks. She promised to get back in touch but Phil didn't really believe her. Imagine his surprise when she texted him while in line at Passport Control. He'll tell you he knew then that she was really into him. Fast forward two weeks later to our first date at Barcelona and the rest is history!

The Proposal

Phil had the proposal planned for months. He sent the ring to his parents' house so Sharyn wouldn't accidentally find it (and probably so the kids wouldn't accidentally find it and spill the beans). He had a crazy month at work and suggested adult date night at the beginning of November. He subtly suggested tapas because we don't have a great tapas place near us and because this was part of his super sneaky plan. Sharyn suggested Barcelona because they take reservations and Toro (our other favorite tapas place) does not. Well of course he had already thought of this since we had our first date there and made reservations. Day of the proposal and Riley forgot her clarinet at our house. Phil drove home, picked up her clarinet, dropped it off at her mom's house, and got the reassuring "Go get 'em tiger!" from Riley. It was raining that evening, which in New England means everyone forgets how to drive, so he was late for dinner. Little did Sharyn know that the folks at Barcelona were appalled he was late because they knew what was coming. We finished up a lovely dinner, and Phil told Sharyn the kids made a video for her birthday (the following week) because they were "concerned Sharyn would be working late." The video was all the things they loved about Sharyn, and at the end, Phil told them he was proposing. When Sharyn put the phone down, there was the ring, she said yes, there was a lot of happy crying (by Sharyn), and cheering from the entire restaurant.
