How We Met

Lose weight - gain a life partner

It actually all started back in 2008 at Crowley Middle School where we had a couple of classes with each other! Michael left North Crowley freshman year and it would be EIGHT years later where we accidentally ran into each other at Planet Fitness. (I guess gaining weight was a good thing?) It was around March where we saw each other across the gym and we both were making awkward eye contact each time but we didn't say anything to each other until Michael slid into the DM's on May 10th. Neither of us were expecting anything serious. In fact, for a few weeks I was pretty certain Michael was friend zoning me. But the more we got to be with one another the more we were figuring out that this was something special. Michael went to Destin, Florida for vacation and on June 12th he asked me to be his girlfriend (over text I might add. Felt like middle school all over again!) We fell in love pretty quickly after he came back. Every day was this great adventure and it was so clear that we were meant to be together forever.

The Proposal

After nine months of dating I knew I wanted to marry Ashley. We were both at the age where we didn't have to rush into anything but the way she blended in with my family and how everyone enjoyed her presence and loved her as much as I did...I knew I had to propose. We were going to Florida for a family vacation, and while there we would be celebrating our one year anniversary. This would be the perfect place. I told my family, I asked Ashley's mom and brother if it would be okay and they said yes. My first original plan was going to take place on our anniversary, June 12th. We would have dinner and take a walk on the beach and walk back to my family holding "will you marry me" signs. Well two days before this was suppose to go down, we were on the beach and Carl noticed a boat that would run advertisements on this huge screen. He called to ask for details and came up to me saying we could use it to propose. I was ready. The boat would stop right in front of the house we were staying at around 4:30. My family planned that we would do a fake photo shoot on the beach so nothing would be too obvious to Ashley. So we were literally on the beach all day and a hour before the boat was suppose to arrive Ashley said she was going to take a shower and stay inside for the rest of the evening... luckily when everyone told her we're doing a little photo shoot that she needed to be back on the beach by 4 she actually listened lol. When the boat finally got closer my family told Ashley and I to stand by the water and do some poses for pictures. When the boat was right where it needed to be I told Ashley "look at the boat", I dropped on one knee and waited for her to look back. The screen read in huge letters "Ashley, will you marry me?" It absolutely surprised her because she kept looking at the boat and back at me a few times. It was one of those moments that you just had to be there. It was the best day of my life and I can't wait to marry this girl.
