After leaving the cold of NYC, Matt and Sara (and Kate, Beck, and Rich) landing in equally cold Iceland, encountered trouble after trouble. Although the island is referred to as the Land of Fire and Ice, they didn't expect to see an active volcano that was erupting! After switching plans several times due to volcanos and clouds and jetlag, Matt and Sara were finally able to get on a boat to hopefully see the Northern Lights. The universe was definitely on Matt's side as the lights were the brightest and most active they had been in over a month. An anxious Matt and a sneaky Beck were able to find a spot on the front of the boat where there was no one else. Despite blistering cold wind and a fear of dropping the ring, Matt proposed to Sara off the coast of Reykjavik, Iceland under the glow of the aurora borealis.
