How do I RSVP? When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP using the RSVP tab on this website by Sunday, September 14th, 2025. If you do not RSVP in time, we will not be able to accommodate you. We are required to provide our vendors with a final guest count shortly after the RSVP date. While we have some time before RSVPs are due, please RSVP as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding! :)

Can I bring a guest or date?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests. Due to limited venue capacity, we can only accommodate those invited. When you go to RSVP, you will be able to see the people you can RSVP for.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends dressed up with us! We are requesting cocktail attire for our dress code. Please avoid colors traditionally reserved for the bride (whites, ivories, creams). (For those of you girls that are curious what the bridesmaids are wearing, our bridal party will be in blue!)

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be held indoors. We will have an indoor/outdoor experience for cocktail hour.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will be held in the chapel on Hawthorne House's property. When you arrive, please find a parking space and head to the chapel doors! :)

Can we take photos on a phone or camera?

Answer

We've hired a FABULOUS photographer to capture our day and will be asking for an unplugged ceremony. Please refrain from taking personal photos during the ceremony. We will be able to share our professional photos once we receive them. Thank you so much for understanding!

What is parking like at the venue?

Answer

There are 175 paved parking spots at Hawthorne House. While we have invited around 200 guests, we do have vendors that need parking spaces as well. For this reason, we recommend carpooling if possible! :)

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! Please plan (and party) accordingly and arrange alternate transportation home if you choose to drink. :) We DO NOT want anyone drinking and driving, and Hawthorne House agrees. For this reason, they will allow guests to leave their vehicles overnight at the venue and pick them up the next morning by 10:00am. We also recommend using rideshare apps like Lyft and Uber! We also have arranged a shuttle to and from Towneplace Suites Kansas City at Briarcliff and Hawthorne House for those of our lovely guests that are staying at that hotel. Woo!
