John and I first met years ago as coworkers when I lived in Nashville. He was always the go to guy at work when I had issues with products. I moved back to Alabama in 1999. John and I ran into each other one day late in 2016. We made small talk and went on our way. Everyone knows I never change my phone number. I've had the same number for over 30 years. He took a chance and decided to call me. He was shocked when I answered. He said "you still have the same number?" I laughed and said "yes." We talked for hours on the phone. He told me his wife had recently passed. I expressed my condolences to him and his family. We didn't talk for a few weeks and then he called again. This time he asked me if we could go out sometime. Me with my silly self said "are you coming to Birmingham?" He said, "I was hoping you could meet me in Decatur, AL." I was hesitant, but eventually agreed to meet him. There was an instant attraction when we met. We had so much in common. It was easy talking with him. From that day forward, we talked everyday. We would have serious conversations and then sometimes we would just laugh until it hurt. July 2017 is when we knew we wanted to be together forever. We started spending more and more time together. He would come to Birmingham every other weekend. Every time we were together, it was magical and we didn't want the weekend to end. We had fallen head over heels in love with one another. John proposed to me on March 16, 2018. We are each others best friend and we can't wait to share our lives together. We are looking forward to a bright future. We know if we continue to keep God at the head of our lives, we will have a wonderful & happy marriage.
