Our ceremony and reception will held at a vineyard in Los Alamos, California—a small town in the Santa Ynez Valley, about an hour north of Santa Barbara.
For those traveling by plane: The closest airport is Santa Barbara (SBA), about 45 minutes away. Los Angeles (LAX) is around 2.5 hours, and San Luis Obispo (SBP) is just over an hour. Rental cars are recommended, as rideshares can be limited in this area. For those in California: Google maps. Be mindful if you're traveling Friday morning, LA traffic is a beast. We will be coordinating a large shuttle to take people to and from the hotel in Buellton to the wedding venue in Los Alamos.
See the Travel tab on this website for recommendations.
We are describing this as a "backyard ranch" style wedding. Dressy casual/cocktail attire. Cowboy boots and bolo ties if you are so inclined would not be inappropriate :) Since the ceremony and reception are outdoors, we recommend comfortable shoes (grass and gravel surfaces) and bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening. PLEASE NO STILETTOS.
In May, Los Alamos is usually sunny with highs in the 70s and cooler evenings in the 50s. Please bring layers!
Yes mostly—our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner will all be outside. Don’t worry—we’ll have shade, heaters, and a backup plan in case of unexpected weather. After party karaoke will be indoors
This is a small venue with a very intimate guest list. We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration
Yes! We’ll have a full dinner, an open bar, and snacks. Dinner will be Santa Maria style, the caterer specializes in oak pit BBQ and smoked meats. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available.
Your presence is the best gift. If you’d like to contribute further, we’re saving toward our first home and a honeymoon adventure. You can find our registry link on the “Registry” page.
Buellton has a ton of things to do, definitely recommend eating at the The Hitching Post (so good!). Los Alamos is full of great tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops all along Bell Street. Nearby, you’ll also find beautiful hikes, wineries, and Santa Ynez Valley towns like Los Olivos and Solvang to explore.
Great question! We are going to be hanging out in Santa Barbara on Saturday, see the "Schedule" page for details. We're also looking into getting big campsite/hotel in Big Sur starting on Monday, which is about a 2.5-3.5 hour drive, depending on Highway 1 road closures. There are a couple places there that have campgrounds with hotel/cabins/restaurant on site, which would give options to both those who wanted to camp, as well as those who are not so keen on roughing it. The plan is to stay there for a few days and relax/soak in one of the most beautiful places on earth. We'd likely start this part of the adventure on Sunday. Please reach out if this is something that interests you!
