Like all great modern romances, Michael and Brittany’s story began online. And even though Brittany arrived a staggering 30 minutes late to their very first date, both of them walked away knowing they had found something special. As they got to know each other, they discovered they had actually been crossing paths for years — constantly in the same places at the same time, somehow always just missing one another. They officially began dating in February 2024 and quickly built a relationship grounded in good coffee, classical music, and a shared love of travel. Brittany fell in love with Michael’s curiosity, constant pursuit of learning, innate goodness, and thoughtful nature. Michael, meanwhile, loves Brittany’s sense of humor, the joy she brings to his life, and the fact that she’s not a bad cook either. On the second anniversary of the day they met, Michael proposed at Commodore Perry Estate in Austin. Brittany was completely surprised and happily accepted immediately. For Michael, the moment came with equal parts excitement, relief, and exhaustion — after all, he had been trying to propose for nearly six weeks, only to be thwarted by tariffs, shipping mishaps, and Brittany’s ever-complicated schedule. Knowing how close Brittany is with her parents, Michael waited until the very day of the proposal to ask for their blessing. Brittany’s dad responded with, “Kick that touchdown!” We’re still not entirely sure what it means, but everyone agreed it sounded promising. Now, Brittany and Michael are thrilled to be getting married at the family home of dear friends and cannot wait to celebrate this meaningful day surrounded by the people they love most.
