Deshun & Sharkeria’s love story began in the downtown streets of Washington D.C. on May 25, 2024 while Celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with friends. Deshun was heading to a night out with the guys and Sharkeria was heading back to her hotel from a night out with her best friend when she noticed Deshun and his two friends eye-gazing from across the sidewalk. With sass, Sharkeria said, “Hey” as she continued walking in the direction of the hotel entrance until her best friend informed her that Deshun wanted to speak with her. Sharkeria return to the front of the hotel where she was met by Deshun who introduced himself as “Shun” and asked “How are you doing?” Sharkeria replied introducing herself as “Shar.” Deshun asked Sharkeria for her phone number, and Sharkeria replied “yes” before inputting and saving her number. Deshun, Sharkeria, and their friends conversed for 10 minutes before saying their goodbyes.. or what would be “See You Later” for Deshun & Sharkeria. Deshun attempted to have meaningful conversations with Sharkeria throughout the weekend via text; however, Sharkeria was committed to having a fun, well deserved girls trip with her best friend. On March 31, 2024, Deshun texted Sharkeria to ask if she was still in town. This text would be the start consistent communication as Sharkeria responded, with annoyance, that she had left almost a week prior. Overtime the two would converse by text, until June 3, 2024, when they would have their first FaceTime call that lasted nearly 4 hours. The FaceTime led to great conversation and sparked chemistry. The two conversed every day until June 8, 2024 when Deshun decided to drive 6 hours in the spare of moment to take Sharkeria on their first date. This first date would turn into forever as the two spent this weekend, and every other, together. The two traveled the United States together and built memories full of fun, laughter, love and comfort in every moment. Deshun made this friendship a partnership on September 9, 2024, when he asked Sharkeria to be official. Since this date, the two have built a foundation rooted in friendship, love, and faith. On October 25, 2025, Deshun got on 1 knee before God, family, and friends to ask Sharkeria for her hand in marriage. Without hesitation, Sharkeria said YES! The two have consistently prioritize God, respect, and transparency as they stand hand in hand ready to face life as #OneInAMiller.
