Flying from the Midwest can feel like a long trip, but once you land you'll forget your travel woes immediately! Pack a good sleep mask (e.g. MZOO sleep eye mask), some headphones, and snacks. Soon you'll be in paradise.
Yes, you will pretty much have to rent a car to get around. Kauai is a small island. Although the beauty is endless, the public transportation is not. Please keep that in mind when booking your trip.
Yes, please do!! This is your time to shine, and you cannot go overboard. I respectfully ask you do not wear full red attire, but outside of that you can dress yourself in your finest Indian or other wear.
Yes it is!! If you choose to go on this world famous hike, come prepared with hiking boots, walking sticks, food, etc. Even the first two miles were vigorous, BUT the views are worth a one time trip. ;)

Makai club does offer various rooms to stay at, however we do recommend you explore AirBnb or VRBO options on the north side of the island! We love staying in Princeville itself, and Hanalei is a very short drive away. Other locations such as Kapa'a are on the east side of the island but are also accessible by a 30 min drive, which may be a cheaper option.
