Hannah and Sharif will be at Oh My Soul in NODA (3046 North Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205) on Saturday, 6/28 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Expect live music, vegan food, and libations for those who partake. If you want to stick around afterward, there are plenty of great dining spots nearby like Haberdish, Ever and Aloud, and The Good Year House. The wedding will take place on Sunday 6/29 (with guests arriving at 4PM) at a private residence on Lake Norman, located at 363 Camino Real Road, Mooresville, NC. The venue is about 40 minutes away from CLT airport, and uptown, and about 5 minutes from two local hotel options. We’re transforming the backyard into a relaxed and welcoming setting for the day, with the ceremony and mocktail hour held outdoors under the open sky, and dinner served under a large tent. Street parking is available in the cul-de-sac and along the road in front of neighboring homes—just please avoid parking in the driveway. You're welcome to use the driveway for quick drop-offs (look for balloons to help guide you!). Late June in North Carolina tends to be warm, so we recommend wearing lightweight, breathable clothing. Since the event will be entirely on grass, comfortable shoes are a good idea. Alcohol will not be served at any part of the event, but there will be a variety of mocktails and refreshing drinks to enjoy. It’s summer by the lake, so bugs may try to crash the party—but don’t worry, we’ve got it covered. We’ll have bug spray on hand, along with citronella candles and torches throughout the space to help keep mosquitoes away. Guests are welcome to walk out onto the dock and enjoy the view over the lake. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on the dock. For safety, we also ask that shoes and socks be removed before stepping onto the dock, as the surface can be slippery when wet. If rain is in the forecast, parts of the celebration may be moved under the tent. It wouldn’t hurt to bring an umbrella and a pair of sneakers just in case the ground gets muddy. For restrooms, guests may use the hallway bathroom inside the house, but we ask that everyone limit their time indoors to that space only. We’ll also have two portable toilets set up in the driveway for your convenience.

It’s a casual meetup, so now that we’re all family, don’t make a big fuss—just come and hang out. And don’t give Sharif too much caffeine… unless, of course, you want him bouncing off the walls!

Yes, there will be a space for Asr and Maghrib prayers, and we’d love for you to join us. A tarp will be set up outdoors, and we plan to pray together behind our beloved imam, inshallah. Access to bathrooms for wudu will be a bit limited, but we’ll have water bottles and paper towels available to make things easier. The hallway bathroom inside the house will be available if needed, though it may be a bit busy at times—so we appreciate your patience.
If you are flying in, we recommend renting a car. While Uber is available, wait times are often 20-30 minutes to and from the wedding venue.
While we love all your little ones, unfortunately we are not able to accommodate all children. Please only bring those listed on your invitation.
We’re sorry you won’t be able to join us in person—but yes, we do plan to have a Zoom stream for the nikah/wedding ceremony! We’ll be sending out the link and details to everyone who RSVP’d “no,” so you can still be part of the moment from wherever you are. We’ll be thinking of you and hope you can join us virtually!
