We first noticed one another in the halls of Freehold Township High School in the 1980s—Bruce from across a distant corridor, Shari one year ahead and hard to miss. Bruce carried a quiet high‑school crush but never found the nerve to ask her out. Life unfolded in separate directions: different colleges, marriages, children, careers, and four decades of experiences that felt, at times, like entire lifetimes. Years later, Bruce spotted Shari on Facebook among suggested friends. Her name caught him—he remembered “Shari Post,” but the profile read “Shari Post Marcus,” which gave him pause. He continued on with his day, but three months later her profile resurfaced. This time he saw her marital status listed as “Divorced,” and he sent a friend request. A little encouragement from our mutual friend Gina DeMarco helped bridge the gap between past and present. Conversations followed, visits became routine, and within weeks we realized the connection we’d once noticed in high school had grown into something real and lasting. We are honored to celebrate our marriage on June 28, 2026, and grateful for the long, winding path that led us here.
