Our story started at junior prom in high school, not exactly the way either of us planned. As it turned out, both of our original prom dates fell through, so Damien stepped in and asked Sharel to go with him instead. What started as a backup plan quickly turned into the start of something unexpected. Later that night during the slow dance, while “Angel of Mine” was playing, Damien looked at Sharel and asked, “Will you be my angel and be my girlfriend?” Now, Sharel wasn’t exactly planning to start a relationship that night… but in the moment (and maybe a little out of pity), she said yes. Little did she know, that “pity yes” would turn into years of love, memories, and eventually a wedding. Neither of us knew it then, but that unexpected prom night would become the beginning of our love story.

After 12 years of Sharel patiently (and maybe not-so-patiently) waiting, Damien finally decided it was time to make it official. He surprised her at CATCH Las Vegas, in front of their closest family and friends, and asked her to finally marry him. This time, there was no hesitation, just a big, joyful YES… and maybe a little “about time!”

With years of laughing, traveling, and sometimes just surviving life together, we finally get to celebrate the best day yet, our wedding day. What started as "puppy love" at junior prom turned into an 18-year adventure filled with love, laughter, and more memories than we could count. Along the way there were a few unexpected twists, but every step brought us closer to this moment. Today, surrounded by our family and friends, we’re so excited to begin the next chapter of our story, one we know will be just as fun, silly, and full of love as everything that came before. Because let’s be real… after 18 years, this is just the beginning of our happily ever after.
