We met while working in property management, becoming friends in the spring of 2021 when Rostin started his job as a maintenance technician and Shardané was an assistant property manager. From the very beginning, there was something special about our connection. What started as daily office visits and casual conversations quickly became something neither of us expected. Rostin had a way of showing up every day just to talk, laugh, and make even the most stressful moments feel lighter, while Shardané’s warmth, strength, and glow made every moment feel effortless. Friendship came naturally, then flirting, lunches, park meetups during work breaks, weekend board games, late-night talks, and simple moments that slowly turned into something real and meaningful. On December 10, 2021, that friendship turned into love. Shardané walked into a room filled with chocolate and rose petals spelling out “Be mine?” and without hesitation, she said yes. From that day on, our worlds began to blend—our routines, our families, and eventually our kids. Watching them bond became one of the greatest blessings of our relationship. As time passed, so did milestones: meeting parents, growing closer to family, and realizing that what we had built was safe, intentional, and worth forever. We balanced each other in ways we didn’t even know we needed, and everything simply flowed. Knowing that Shardané had always dreamed of being proposed to by the water, Rostin planned a surprise proposal at Bolsa Chica State Beach, surrounded by waves, sunshine, and the people we love most. Under the disguise of a scavenger hunt, rose petals were laid out in the sand, friends and family gathered, and a path was created toward our next chapter. When the crowd parted and Shardané saw Rostin waiting for her, time seemed to pause. Before she even reached him, tears were flowing. When he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, the answer was an easy yes.
