Budapest has amazing public transportation. It is usually faster and easier than getting anywhere by car. You can use google maps to see what public transport will get you where you want to go! If you're in town for a week, it's worth it get the week-long pass for public transit; they also have 72 hour passes & other lengths, or, you can buy tickets in packs of 10 or 20 and then just punch one ticket each time you ride. You can buy these at most major metro stations. Instead of buying physical tickets, you can also use the BudapestGo app and buy tickets through there. They do check often for tickets & fine you if you don't have one, so it's not a good idea to try to get on any public transport without one. Uber now exists in Budapest as well, there's also a similar app called Bolt.
