Laura Svites
Maid of Honor
Laura and Alexis met their freshman year in college but became close their sophomore year. The two grew even closer when they worked with one another at APCO Worldwide after they graduated! Laura and Alexis enjoy playing video games together and spending time at the dog park. Laura's dog, Luna, loves to romp and play with Lily! Alexis' favorite memory with Laura is all the times they went to Backcountry (a bar near JMU) while they were in college! Alexis hopes to see those killer moves again at the wedding!
Curtis Indyke
Best Man
Richard and Curtis met their freshman year in high school at the golf team tryouts. They both spent countless hours on the course together and attended James Madison University together. After college, they enjoyed meeting up for happy hours while interning in Washington D.C. Curtis even visited Richard in Florence, Italy, where he met Alexis for the first time. Nowadays, whenever Curtis is in town, Richard loves to catch up with him over drinks.
Allie Svites
Maid of Honor
Allie and Alexis met their freshman year of college where they were randomly assigned to the same suite at James Madison University (JMU). The two immediately bonded and have been best friends ever since! In college, they enjoyed studying at the library together, going to football games, and going out together on the weekends. Allie and Alexis look forward to the JMU alumni weekend all year to relive some of their favorite memories together. Today, they enjoy dog watching, eating Skinny Pop, sharing brussel sprout recipes, and playing video games together! During the wedding, Allie will be found singing Mariah Carey Christmas songs all night long.
John Sakevich
Groomsman
When Alexis introduced Richard to her friends after they began dating, she never thought Richard would find one of his closest friends, too! John and Richard immediately hit it off and have been buddies and fellow grill masters ever since! Over the years the two have bonded over their love of Borat, video games, and lighting (controlled) fires! John is an important part of the "squad" and the day just wouldn't be complete without him! P.S. Lily Bean is very skittish around new people, but has always been obsessed with John! John is Lily's best friend!
Katherine Wallentine
Bridesmaid
Katherine and Alexis have been friends since kindergarten! As children, the two spent time together in Girl Scouts, exploring their hometown, and were co-presidents of their club in middle school. While Alexis was in grad school, Katherine was vacationing in Florence, Italy. They enjoyed spending time together and Alexis loved sharing the best parts of Florence with Katherine. While they went to different high schools and colleges, they now live close to each other in Vriginia and enjoy catching up after work in D.C. for happy hour!
Andrew McMann
Groomsman
Richard and Andrew met in high school, hung out after school often, and bonded over their crazy coworkers at their first paid job. While they went to different colleges, they stayed in touch. Richard, Alexis, Andrew, and his fiance, Hayley enjoy watching LivePD, making pizza, and going to the Alexandria farmers market together! Richard, Alexis, and their dogs love to meet up with Andrew, Hayley and their dog, Polly at dog parks where they can all hang out for hours!
Valerie Cateriano
Bridesmaid
Richard and Valerie met their freshman year of college. Alexis and Valerie first met in Italy while she was visiting Richard, but they became close friends when Alexis and Richard returned home. Alexis and Valerie love to meet up at local dog parks where Lily and Henny can play together and they can catch up. During the pandemic, Alexis, Valerie, and Richard met up for a picnic with their dogs (and foster dogs) where they were able to enjoy great coffee, snacks, and spent hours chatting with each other!
Kevin Riley
Groomsman
Richard and Kevin met at James Madison University and were roommates for three years. When they weren't procrastinating and had some free time, they were staying up late playing Grand Theft Auto and drinking Jack Daniels. During the wedding, you'll find Kevin at the bar drinking whiskey, which will get him on the dance floor in no time!
Yasmine Maggio
Bridesmaid
Richard and Yasmine became friends their sophomore year in high school. Alexis and Yasmine first met in Italy while she was visiting Richard, but became close friends when Alexis and Richard returned home. Alexis bonded with Yasmine quickly, since they have so much in common and can chat for hours. Yasmine was even present the night Alexis and Richard received the phone call about a dog in Turkey that was in need of a home (Bloo) and was the first to celebrate with them. Alexis always enjoys meeting up with Yasmine for a good cup of coffee or ice cream and catching up whenever she is in town!
James Hogan

James is Richard's cousin and was always kind to Richard, even as his camp counselor! During James' wedding in June, Richard was touched by their beautiful ceremony and was so excited to share their special day with them. Richard is looking forward to seeing James' wedding dance moves one more time (cue Piano Man)!
Lily Bean
Pup of Honor
As a birthday present to Alexis, Richard scheduled a surprise appointment to meet Lily, who was available for adoption. Alexis and Richard adopted Lily on February 2, 2019. Lily is a pitbull, rottweiler, beagle mix with the sweetest personality and most gentle soul. Lily is the smartest dog her parents have ever met. As such, Lily knows countless tricks including identifying colors and reading commands. Alexis and Richard enjoy going to the dog park with Lily, going on hikes, letting her run free on the beach, and playing fetch for hours in the backyard.
Bloo Stevie
Pup of Honor
Alexis and Richard had planned to adopt a second dog after their wedding. However, once their wedding was postponed, they decided the timing was still right to add another dog to the family. Alexis and Richard saw a photo of Bloo, who was found living as a stray in Turkey, and decided she was the perfect fit. On a cold November evening, Bloo flew into Dulles International Airport where Alexis and Richard were waiting for her. She is a mini schnauzer, mini poodle, saluki, Anatolian shepherd, wolf mix who is jam-packed with a sassy and hysterical personality. She enjoys endless pets, jumping up on the bed as soon as the alarm goes off each morning, and ignoring Richard and Alexis whenever they call her name.
Carl Anderson
Officiant
Richard and Carl lived together in Florence, Italy while in graduate school. The two quickly became friends. Alexis and Carl spoke often in class. However, when Alexis and Richard started dating and spending more time at Richard's flat, Alexis became close friends with Carl, too! The three watched scary movies every Friday night, traveled all over Europe together, and have bonded over their love of Taco Bell and dogs. Carl knows Richard and Alexis as individuals, as a couple, and couldn't be more excited to help these two become one.
