From the moment we met from online to in person, there was an instant warmth and connection that felt like something much deeper than either of us expected. Our first date was at a dinner spot just blocks from where we now call home a detail that still makes us smile. What stood out most in those early days was how we pushed each other to show up fully, to open up, and to let ourselves be truly loved. We embraced each other's quirks, remembered each other's details, and somewhere in the middle of all that, we realized how rare what we had really was. Our story has taken us through growth, challenges, laughter, tears, and memories across the world including Japan, where Shantez got down on one knee. For Lauren, that moment was full circle; Japan is where her father was born, and the fact that Shantez chose that place said everything about the way he loves intentionally, thoughtfully, and with her whole heart in mind. Neither of us imagined we'd find ourselves here, but somehow it feels exactly right. Out of everything life could have been, it led us to each other. And we truly believe that was always the plan.
