Jacob was working at Baskin Robbins when Shantelle came in for some sugar induced soul rejuvenation. Little did she know the universe had more in store for her than mere ice cream. After being served she went outside accompanied by her friend, imploring her admiration of Jacob’s appearance. After being convinced, She courageously made her way back inside to inform Jacob of her interest. She pulled open the doors, walked to the register and muttered, "where are your napkins?" He stood puzzled, staring blankly for a moment. He then smiled and placed his hand on the giant napkin dispenser between them. He then responded, "Are these what you are looking for?" Instantly filled with embarrassment, She hid her face exclaiming, "oh my!" letting out a giggle filled with regret. She quickly grabbed napkins and ran for the door urgently, as if the building were on fire. As her hand reached for the door, her heart filled with courage, She looked back and said, "by the way, you are extremely attractive." as she walked out the door. Jacob quickly shouted, “As are you” barely in time for her to hear. Jacob was left bewildered, wondering if he would ever see the mysterious beauty again. He returned to work for a moment only to hear the tinkling of bells as the store doors opened. He looked up to see her walking in shyly. He exclaimed, “you are back!” with a big grin. She giggled and responded,” yes, and I have a question.” Smirking at her to insinuate his teasing nature, He chuckled and said, “did you need the spoons this time? Because those are right here.” She laughed, and said, “No, I actually was wondering if you had a girlfriend.” Jacob smiled and said “No I do not, would you like my phone number” after exchanging names and numbers Jacob and Shantelle spent some time to briefly get to know each other before She and her friend had to leave. As they said their goodbyes Jacob heard a “Ding!” to which She Smiled and said, “Good! It works” while playfully sticking her tongue out.

Falling In love

In October of 2016, after their "meet cute", and texting for a couple of days Jacob invited Shantelle on their first date. He made plans with her to go to Irvine park and visit the OC Zoo and petting zoo. They met at the park and walked around talking for hours getting to know each others ins and outs. They visited the pumpkin patch, went to the zoo and observed the animals all while laughing and creating inside jokes together. In all the excitement of getting to know each other Jacob completely forgot to bring Shantelle to the petting zoo portion of the exhibits which Shantelle still laughs and teases him about, to this day. They then sat on a park bench staring at the pond and beautiful scenery surrounding them completely lost in conversation. After hours of enjoying each others company. Shantelle realized she was going to be late for work if she didn't leave. As they both were falling for one another neither of them wanted the date to end. Shantelle quickly suggested they meet up again that night for dessert after she finished her shift. To which Jacob happily agreed. They then went to a late night ice cream parlor called After's before returning to the car where Shantelle decided to lay everything out on the line. She discussed with him her past and all her "negative attributes" to which Jacob found completely refreshing and courageous. It was at this moment Jacob knew he was falling for her, hard and fast. He looked her in the eyes as he slowly inched closer to her. He gently placed his hand on her neck while they both shared their first kiss. They went on to discuss all sorts of deep and tough subjects into the night, falling harder for each other by the second. As they conversed the sky quickly flashed from starlit darkness, to burgeoning morning glow.

New Beginnings

Fast forward to June of 2021 Shantelle and Jacob spent years growing together creating memories and developing a strong relationship with one another. They bonded over joint interests and learned each others quirks and ticks. As they fell for each other they discussed their relationship goals and dreams, both pursuing their careers to secure a future together. After establishing their careers they decided to move out together into their first apartment. They found that living together further connected them while validating they had found their soulmate. Fast forward again to March of 2022. Jacob had no doubts in his mind that he had found the woman of his dreams and his future wife and made plans to propose. He told Shantelle he wanted to return to the park they had their first date and recreate it as he thought it would be cute. He got all dressed up to which Shantelle exclaimed, "You are going to wear that to the park? You are going to be so uncomfortable." Pleading for him to change into more "comfortable" attire. They went to the zoo(actually remembering to go to the petting zoo this time) and eventually made their way to the same bench they shared on their first date. It was here that Jacob proposed, stating how he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Shantelle was completely shocked. She sat in Awe for a moment before screaming, "Yes, of course! I love you."
