Shante's version: We met in high school, I was a cheerleader and he was a football player. Typical, huh lol. He was older than me and I always thought he was so cute but I was too young for him back then (per him). Fast forward to 2016 when a chance encounter with my elementary teacher at the bank he was working at happened and we reconnected! Soon after we reconnected we got together to hang out and catch up and from that day forward it's been me and him. I never knew I could love someone as much as I love him. I've prayed for this man without realizing he was right in front of me. Not only did God bless me with this amazing man, he blessed me with two stepson's that I love more than my heart can contain. He is the true definition of a wonderful man, dedicated father and soon to be a more than amazing husband. Quaner's version: Yes, my love and I were first acquainted as cheerleader and jock at the pride of the Eastside. We always made it a point to notice each other in the halls but only as friends with budding interests. I always maintained my gentleman distance but never pursued. Always good for a good laugh or good conversation, the memories of her were placed upon me by her teacher who was then a client of mine. After rekindling a good laugh and conversation I have yet to stop wanting to hear that voice and laugh (...it just brightens my whole day). The angel I never knew I needed saved me and protected me during some of the toughest times. Times in my life where I didn’t see the light at the end of my own tunnels. I only hope to protect and love her as much as she loves and protects me and prove it more and more each day as we grow together. When a man finds a wife he finds a good thing and I pray our love is great forever.
Before we went to dinner I (Shante') had a couple of dress malfunctions and I was on the verge of cancelling our plans for dinner. But I decided not to be sour puss since it was our three anniversary dinner, so I found a dress and we went. We went to dinner at Mahogany's downtown and it was delicious. Quaner was being kind of quiet and kept going to the bathroom so I just thought his stomach was upset or something. As we are walking out of the restaurant out of nowhere I see our boys looking so handsome and holding a sign that said "Will you marry us?" I was so surprised! I turned around and he was on his knee! And of course I said yes!!! The sweetest proposal ever and I wouldn't change a thing.
