Their love story began long before they even realized it. It all started in their childhood, on the basketball courts of Homenetmen, where they played on opposing teams, unaware that they secretly had a crush on each other. Despite Shant living in New Jersey and Meghri in Boston, fate kept bringing them together at Homenetmen Olympics and AYF events, though neither had the courage to take that first step toward one another. In 2021, life gently nudged them closer. Meghri, alongside her friends, launched Eyesupport, a nonprofit dedicated to raising money for humanitarian needs in Armenia. Shant, drawn to the cause, placed a large order — a gesture that didn’t go unnoticed. Meghri took the opportunity to thank him, and in that simple message, a spark was ignited. What started as a brief exchange quickly grew into endless conversations, each one pulling them closer, revealing a connection that had been there all along. Then, in the summer of 2023, Shant, in a moment of perfect timing and deep emotion, asked Meghri to marry him in front of Mt. Ararat, a powerful symbol of their heritage, their love, and the journey that had brought them to this unforgettable moment. Now, they are excited to celebrate this new chapter of their love story with all of their loved ones in their homeland, Armenia, in July 2025.
