We met on an online dating app, Bumble. Which is pretty crazy! But I'm actually convinced that if we hadn't met there, sooner or later I would have trekked up to Boston to Tender Greens, where he was the Executive Chef at the time, and we would have met there either way :). Our first date was tapas at Redfin Kitchen in Providence. We had great conversation and I was already impressed that he had spent so much time really making sure wherever we went had food that I would like. I believe we got there around 830 and the restaurant was closing at 10, so I got my jacket and was expecting to say goodbye when he asked if I wanted to go get drinks at a cool swanky bar around the corner. I just thought it was so cool that he wanted to hang out with me longer! I never go to bars but this place, The Dorrance, was in a really awesome historic building and we were pretty much the only ones there. I remember him telling me that I would love Rhode Island come summer (since being a desert girl in the Northeast in November was a bit of a culture shock), and that I would have to come out on the boat with him :). When we left he swiped the mini white pumpkin on the bar for me, because I had said that I liked it (and then dropped it and the stem fell off lol). But he walked me to my car and kissed me on the cheek and we both definitely knew there was something special!
