Flight
RDU is by far the closest and most likely the cheapest for flights. Every event is taking place in downtown Raleigh. Anyone flying for our day is already sacrificing alot of time and money so we tried to keep it as convenient as possible and not require having to rent a car.

Travel Note
Mountains: It will be stunning that time of year. The temperature will be about 10 degrees cooler. Boone (3 hour drive) is home to App State which makes it a fun college town. It is best for people who want to be close to good hiking trails and are on more of a budget. Asheville (4 hour drive) is situated in a valley which makes it about 45 minutes to some of the more scenic hikes. What it lacks in that department it makes up for in things to do. It has the Biltmore Estate which is stunning, really great breweries and food. Some great breweries are New Belgium, High Wire, and Funkatorium. Another unique thing to the mountains is the Blue Ridge parkway it is over a 100 miles long and has amazing views, it is worth driving on. . Coasts: The NC beaches are really fun. It's huge you are probably not going to see it all. The intercoastal waterway spans the entire coast where you can do activities like SUPing/Kayaking. The closest is Wrightsville Beach (2 hours) and the city of Wilmington is the biggest coastal city; it has the most options for lodging and things to do. The outer banks (3 hours) are nice. It's famous for wild horses. It is more remote, majority of it is a single lane road on a barrier island. There is still plenty of lodging and food. Honorable mention; Moorehead city area, it's our favorite (3 hour) because it is close to Cape Lookout Island National Seashore. You can drive your truck on the beach and has great shelling. Charleston: This city (4 hour) is true southern charm. It has Spanish moss, unique architecture and history. Horse and Buggy tours are so fun. Plenty of great southern seafood restaurants and nice beaches. This city is home to Wild Dunes Resort at Isle of Palm and Kiowa Island -two amazing Resorts. Honorable mention: stop at Buccees on the way! For Golfers: Southern Pines/Pinehurst (1.5 hour) area is where the famous golf courses are near. Be careful of the heat and start your rounds early but it is definitely worth it.
