Our story began at Yelp, where Shannon started her career and was trained by Matt’s sister, Kristen, who couldn’t stop talking about her younger brother moving from Phoenix to join the Chicago office. Despite working in the same office for a year, Shannon and Matt barely spoke. There was no instant spark or dramatic meet-cute. It wasn’t until they ended up under the same director that things shifted, starting with an unexpected Instagram DM from Matt featuring an Ariana Grande remix he had made. (Yes, really.) From there, everything moved quickly. When COVID hit, they went from casually dating to living with Shannon’s parents, a true relationship test that Matt passed without hesitation. Somewhere along the way, what started unexpectedly turned into something steady, supportive, and full of joy, the kind of love that feels like home. Seven years later, they’ve built a life together filled with love, laughter, and their two dogs, Luna and Skye. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on October 17, 2026.
