This is the heart of Beaufort! The waterfront view, located in Downtown Beaufort, is a must see while you are here visiting. It is a great place to take a walk, sightsee, or simply swing on one of the many swings located along the waterfront park. There are many great restaurants, ice cream shops, and bars along this strip as well. Grab a bite to each, do a little shopping, and enjoy the amazing view!
This is one of Mike and I's favorites places to take a scenic walk or lounge along the beach. You can even pull your car right up onto the beach and picnic right out of your car! If you decide to walk along the beach and look closely along the water's edge, you will even be able to find several sharks teeth! The accompanying boardwalk will take you to a tower you can climb where you will be able to overlook Battery Creek and the many wildlife animals that accompany it.
This local sandwich shop is a must have when in visiting Beaufort. Alvin and Ord's is well known for their hot sandwiches and fresh baked bread. Mike and I are so well known here that when we call in, they know us by name and order! You won't go wrong with a roast beef and turkey sandwich with a side of au jus! There cherry coke is also to die for!
While December isn't really beach season, you would not regret visiting the grounds. Hunting Island Beach is South Carolina's most popular state park and his home to the Hunting Island Lighthouse. Of all the lighthouses in the state, Hunting Island Lighthouse is the only lighthouse accessible to public. Guests are able to climb the many stairs to stand 130 feet above ground and view the Atlantic coast and surrounding islands. This lighthouse was recently filmed on the first season of Outer Bank on Netflix.
Attached is a link to many other historical sites and main attractions that Beaufort has to offer! If you are unable to get it all in the weekend of December 18th, we hope you come back and vacation with us again!
