Udai and Shannon met in Boston while working at the same consulting firm. They got to know each other through an office committee and started dating after serendipitously crossing paths at a friend's Cinco-de-Mayo party. Less serendipitously, Udai already had plans to move to New York City a month after their first date. Shannon said goodbye to Udai the night before his move assuming things would fizzle. However, when Shannon visited friends in New York a few weeks later, she found herself with Udai within hours of arriving. They were officially a couple by the end of that weekend.

Udai and Shannon dated long distance between Boston, New York, Hanover, Philadelphia, and San Francisco before getting engaged. They had a brief break from long distance during which they lived together in New York, until alas they were interrupted again...Udai was sent to the Bahamas for work (read: visa issues) and Shannon got into grad school in Philadelphia. During every transition, they admittedly wondered if their lives would ever converge. However, they also saw how they supported each other pursuing the lives they wanted.

Udai and Shannon got engaged in Central Park where they love to spend time. After seven years together, it's tough for Udai to keep any secret from Shannon, but he threw her off the scent by telling her they were going to a friend's birthday and pestering her for taking too long to get ready as he always does. Udai managed to keep Shannon in the dark until they reached his planned proposal spot where no less than two couples were already getting engaged. After finding an unoccupied spot, Udai got down on one knee and proposed.

Shannon and Udai will be holding not one, but two weddings in each of their hometowns...Cincinnati, Ohio and New Delhi, India! They are excited to share their respective traditions with friends and family across the globe. This website is mostly focused on the Cincinnati wedding.
