Maid of Honor
Kaitlyn and I have been through it all together; she's my ride or die, which made choosing my Maid of Honor one of the easiest decisions I've made planning the wedding. I can't tell you how excited I was to be a big sister as a little kid, all the events leading up to her being born are some of my most vivid childhood memories. That's not to say that we didn't have our knock-down-drag-out fights where I may have choked her on the stairs, but the past is the past right?! Kaitlyn knows me better than anyone and can ensure that I don't lose it and go into full Bridezilla mode. I couldn't be happier having her next to me whether it's exchanging my vows with Truman or holding my dress while I pee. Love you Kate <3 - Shannon
Best Man
Alex and I met in the seventh grade. That's so long ago that a baby born the year we met each other will turn 19 this year. We've grown a lot in those years, though so much remains the same. Bad jokes? Yep, still there. A habit of staying up too late playing video games? You know it. And Alex has been there from the start. He's probably the first person I introduced Shannon to as my girlfriend back in the day. He's always been there to bounce ideas, good or bad, off of. Truman and Alex Club forever, man. Or was it the Alex and Truman Club? Just kidding, it was interchangeable, and always will be. - Truman
Honorary Bridesmaid
There is quite an age gap between my sister Gretchen and I. We haven't had the opportunity to spend much time together, but I couldn't be more excited to have her as an Honorary Bridesmaid! From holding her in my arms, to playing her favorite baby bird game as a little kid, to standing by my side, I couldn't ask for better support. - Shannon
Honorary Bridesman
I realize it's not traditional for the Bride to have a Best Man, but I couldn't get married without my good friend Ian!! Ian and I became friends while working together. I had convinced him to come out to Sunset Hills Winery with Truman and I and we all had such a great time we made going to a Winery or Brewery a weekly weekend outing. I soon learned Ian wasn't just my friend, but Truman's as well; while I was deployed, Truman and Ian kept up with the weekend outings and I even managed to skip out on a Star Wars movie that they went to together. Ian made sure my Truman wasn't lonely while I was gone which was a big relief. Ian is one the most genuine and supportive people I know; I'm so lucky to have him as a friend, and my Best Man...or Bridesman, whatever, you know what I mean. - Shannon
Honorary Bridesmaid
With the blending of families I get a new sister too! I'm excited for all of our future adventures with her, whether it's showing us around Tampa, FL or our typical Winery/Brewery/Distillery tour when she comes to visit us. Cheers to my new sister and us becoming family!! - Shannon
Honorary Groomsman
[Put on 3D glasses] Andy and I became friends at JMU while putting together a little community service project. You could say it was a big event. We quickly discovered we had a similar sense of humor, a shared love of history, and a similar outlook on life. We may live on opposite coasts, but we still keep up. You can bet Shannon laughs at us for texting each other through every presidential debate even though the jokes we're making are hysterical. Like Andy always says "No, not the bees!" -Truman
Honorary Bridesmaid
Ellie and I met through Ben and Truman who worked together as fellows for Loudoun County. When we started hanging out, Truman and Ben would typically nerd out about video games and local government while Ellie and I became wine time partners in crime. My wine time partner had a brief hiatus with the birth of her beautiful daughter, and my flower girl, Willow, but she's back! Here's to hoping we can catch up at a winery soon! - Shannon
Honorary Groomsman
Pictured here on his toilet, Ben and I started our professional careers together as fellows for Loudoun County. While our time working together was short, we remain friends and still talk local government, video games, John Oliver, and alcohol. I think we've gone to more of Loudoun's 1,000 wineries with Ben and Ellie than with anyone else. What more could you ask for in a friend? -Truman
Honorary Ring Bearer
Ryan and I have a pretty significant age gap between us. Much like my sister Gretchen and I, we haven't had the opportunity to spend much time together. However, him sharing an avid interest in History, like my Historian Father, has helped me more than he'll ever know. I'm so glad you came around, I wasn't up to the job. - Shannon
Honorary Groomsman
While Josh and I first met in high school, we became good friends in college at JMU and the years that followed. With the start of our professional lives in Northern Virginia, I could always rely on Josh to join me without notice at the latest happening brewery. Shannon and I both enjoy Josh's ability to show everyone a good time, whether alcohol is present or not. Josh has since moved to Philadelphia to live with his fiance and we're excited for him, but certainly miss mid-week happy hours with Josh. - Truman
Honorary Flower Girl
This pretty little girl is all smiles with a contagious laugh. We can't believe just how fast she's growing. I wish you could run down the aisle with us! - Shannon
