It started at as a cold, rainy day on August 13th, 2016. Shawn had gotten a bunch of his friends together to go to Warrior Dash in Wisconsin. Shannon ended up going alone and meeting a couple along the run to become good friends with. It was not until both Shannon and Shawn were having a blast with their groups of friends at the after party in the now burning heat of summer that the loving couple met. The push-up contest The MC announced a push-up contest. Shannon decided to do it as long as her new friend, Scott, would do it too. She and Scott waited for the start and then Shawn decided to join and walked up with his Shock Top and stood next to Shannon. Shannon turned to Shawn and asked him if he was going to try and drink his beer while doing push-ups. He responded, "I'm going to try." The contest began. Shannon looked around and noticed she was one of only a few girls and many men. After 20 push-ups, Shannon accepted the loss. At this point, Shannon noticed Shawn still doing his push-ups and has yet to drink his beer that was placed on the ground in front of him. Shannon helped him take a sip of his beer as we was going down for another push-up. The contest ended. The dance party Shawn was, of course, in the shade and laughing with all of his friends enjoying their company. Shannon was dancing the day away with her new found friends, Stephanie and Scott. Shawn could not stop gazing at Shannon having fun with her friends. He decided to walk up to her with a beer for her since she helped him out during the push-up contest. They introduced themselves. Shawn asked for her number. She gently declined and told him to add her on Facebook. (This was so she could stalk him of course!) Immediately, Shawn started messaging Shannon via Facebook. Two very long weeks later, Shawn and Shannon shared their first kiss after running Rugged Maniac together.
