The night we met we were both the DDs for our friends. We attended The Beaufort Music Festival followed by a night out at Jack's Waterfront Bar. Reggie and I were standing at the edge of the dance floor chillin' while our friends were out there shaking things up a bit when Cindy, a mutual friend came over and introduced us. We chatted it up a bit, maybe even danced a little and at the end of the evening he asked for my number. I told him I would give it to him but he knew better lol....so he asked to see my phone, which I gave to him, he dialed his number from it and then said..."Now I got your number."
Our first date was taking the kayaks out from Radio Island and along the Beaufort waterfront. We would paddle for a little while then stop on a shore and share a beer. It was a day spent relaxing and talking...lots of talking. In one day we shared so much about ourselves with each other that I felt as if I had known him longer than the short 2 weeks it had been since our first meeting. Since then we have had many adventures together from beaching to boating, motorcycle rides to Sunday drives, tent camping to traveling with our TT and going on trips with friends or taking a long weekend for just the two of us! We have traveled a lot, both thouthout the states and to other countries! We have been to VT where he met some of my family and friends. We have been to Maryland and Georgia for family reunions with his family. Both of us feeling loved by each! We have embraced our differences and the love of friends and family which have gotten us through some tough times! We have struggled and we have thrived together! Through it all we have grown and we have become strong and secure in our relationship. We simply bring out the best in each other. He is the Yin to my Yang! Our love for each other is unconditional and as we grow together our bond is strengthened! The day we met a seed was planted and through our time together it has grown into something wonderful and I cant imagine a day in my life without each other!! We are Blessed by our God and his abundant love to have put us together to share our lives forever with each other!!
Have you ever had an Aha moment when you suddenly realize something big is happening and you are at the center of it? Well I did on Christmas Day 2018! That was the day that Reggie gave me the best gift ever! He proposed to me in the presence of our families as we were gathered around the Christmas tree. Reggie had gone to my dad and asked if he could have my hand in marriage...my dad said yes! He then brought his intentions to his family and formed a plan. He had originally wanted to propose on a cruise we were taking together in 2020 but decided it was more important to have the support and love of our family when he asked me. He hung a beautiful royal blue heart shaped box on the tree, told me he forgot a gift that morning and I had to find it and open it before the family gift exchange. As I looked for the special gift it dawned on me that everyone was staring and waiting with cameras ready and when I saw that box....A HA! I then was in the loop and when I got that pretty ornament in my hand I was shaking. I turned around he took the box got down on his knee and asked me to be his wife! The feeling I had at that moment was like no other and without hesitation I said yes! ! Best Christmas EVER!
So as we were preparing for our nuptials to be on April 25 2020, this pandemic of Corona Virus decides to rear up around the world!! We were not to be discouraged however because we know how strong our love for one another is and realized the timeline didn't matter!! So we decided for the good of all we would postpone until September 26th 2020 (even before we knew the world would shut down for months). Nothing about the wedding plans changed but the date! We are strong in our faith, our love of the Lord and our love for each other!
